Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Those of you in hubs - what do think???

Question for those of you in the Hubs: Seeing the cuts that are unfolding in the non-Hub areas, what are your thoughts? Do you feel secure in your job because Leadership says the future is in the Hubs?

File claim with EEOC if you are in a protected class. You can still be working and file.

Upper Management is out of control and out of touch.

Majority of decision makers have not work front line in new model and do not understand the implications of what they are expecting or doing.

Outdated and previously rejected management and measurement styles are being used in a maniacal manner with no regard for the humans (employees and customers).

Very sad. Very wrong.

Good luck.

It’s a freakin sweatshop down here. Why the hell did I move 2,000 miles to be treated worse in a nicer building and monitored to the point of insanity. The question is, how can these corporate pos’ get away with treating people like this? This isn’t 1910!!! The stress is unreal.

Hubs are not safe! I have heard from so many friends in non-named locations that they are being told all the oportunities are at hubs! NOT TRUE! This coming week we are losing several valuable, experience, high producing employees who opted in amd moved their families and lives to a hub. These people assumed that SF would care for them like they did for years. False sense of security and a TON of lies! Some are just 6-8 months shy of receiving the full benefits package! This place is like the Titanic .....it doesn’t matter what part of the ship you are in, WE ARE ALL GOING DOWN! JUMP AND SAVE YOURSELF BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE.

I think it's a myth created largely by corporate America that millennials don't care about job security. Every millennial I know would love job security, but corporate America simply does not offer it anymore. So here we have an example of corporate America perpetuating a myth to cover the fact that they treat employees as disposable commodities.

Yes, I do think it's true that millennials are more focused on keeping their skills "market ready," but I also think the reason for that is that they know they can't trust any one employer to offer longevity.

This mindset started back with Gen X, a generation that grew up disillusioned with corporations and government entities because they watched their parents get screwed over by them.

In Proximity we don't hear what is going on in the Hubs, All we hear is the same thing Op said that the future is in the Hubs. We are getting fed a line that everything is fine, other than the high turnover, and that is due to the younger generation of workers not sticking around. Also, if we want a career with the company, we need to move to the hubs. Interesting that everything is not sunshine & rainbows there either...

I’m in a hub and trust me, the employees here aren’t safe. If they don’t get rid of us this round , they will in the next round. Certain employees in hubs were not allowed to opt out and take severance because they knew we would all abandon ship. That’s how bad it is.

I'm in a hub and do not feel safe. Consultants are filling the heads of our management telling them we can do more with less. Should an injury CS have to handle nearly 300 files? NO. not NO but H--- NO.

There is no service. Its just putting out fires. Can a good investigation to provide defenses for our policyholder take place under the current system? No not NO but H--- NO.

I’m not sure why you think it isn’t affecting the hubs? We are seeing cuts here too - bank, L&D, claims leadership, etc.

I, and others I speak with, do not feel “safe” in the long term. The only difference is that there are more external opportunities in the hub locations vs. Bloomington.
