All of IT being outsourced .....6k total..

It's no longer just an ugly rumor.. fact is, IT jobs will be outsourced WITH the people who currently have them to Accenture, Deloitte, IBM... so you will still work in your same job, but you will work for a different employer, NOT Verizon. Contract is for ONE year, then you get to go through this crap again.

Oh...was it clear that if you don't take the job, you DON'T get any severance, either? Seems we don't get a CHOICE in the matter.

I work in Finance and the specifics came out last week.. Announcements start 5/4 with cutoverdate 7/1. Good luck everyone.

Interesting. So IT will be provisioning new contractor accounts for IT itself. Gotta see how that goes with firewalls and AD.

ALL of IT? In all the business units? I suspect that's more than 6K

Confirmed most of these positions will be outsourced to Toilette and Douche.

Yeah, perhaps some truths to the rumors, but not without a great deal of irrelevance.

What about 401k and health benefits with IBM since we may be considered as contractor's?

I'm sure it's true lots of rumors over the past few months regarding this.
