Hiring new people all the time is expensive

Since Amazon has these great algorithms, I hope they use them to analyze how many people leave a particular store. It is expensive to hire a new team member. If you have a manager who makes everyone miserable, be it dept or store, It’s amazing when they think people leave because of opportunities. When you start seeing a bunch of people leave, it is typically because someone is destroying morale and it’s amazing when they think people leave because of opportunities. When you interview managers that everyone tells you give them a bad feeling, skip over the enthusiastic and positive alternatives and hire the stoic, it sends the message that you’re going to hire who you want anyway. Then when people turn out to be treated terribly and are given unrealistic expectations with an unsupportive manager especially that comes from the outside and doesn’t even understand the business model of the basic tenets of things like labor and expectation, people leave. I’m not speaking about this particular business model. Speaking of any business model. This is expensive. Hire people who encourage morale and motivate instead of the person who is always looking at what is wrong.

TLs at my store are sh--. They keep me on as PT20 so they can schedule me 10 hours a week during the slow season and 45 when we are understaffed and busy. Morale is dead, rotten food is being served to customers and no one takes the fall for it. My store needs to be shut down for a week so they can get rid of the trash leadership and train up some better ones.

WF just needs to lower its expectations for new TMs. If you pay the same as everyone else you are going to have the same quality employees as everyone else. I remember they use to take pictures of single items that got missed fronting. WF is just like every other store they need to start acting like it. As far as TL reviews go it was just a way to make TM feel like there opinion mattered. It’s like the health insurance voting you are given multiple bad options but you get to pick from one so that makes people feel like they had some say.

Agreed. Never understood why they bothered with TL reviews as year after year passed with TLs running off good TMs and never being questioned. Guess letting them accumulate OT wasn't a big enough waste of money, figured they better give them another way to do it.
