Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Reinspection being moved to the hubs

All L&D Proximity (think trainers) and Re-Inspection being moved to the hubs, don't know exact number. Think about what this means - the company doesn't care about the quality of work being done in the field, or training the reps that remain. I think this sends a clear message that there is no long term viability for Fire Field Proximity.

Is this true?

My $.02 = There will be no need for reinspections since SF will eventually lose 80% of its customers!

Fewer policies means fewer claims!

Besides, consultants didn’t care too much about overpayments. The ones that really did are now gone due to retirement and/or separation. The current SF focus is on quantity, not quality claim handling.

Reinspectors are still in the field. It's screwy wheat is going on.

Some states are properly staffed for Reinspectors, some are not. Those that are not properly staffed are being told to re-bid for their jobs--basically those jobs are open to everyone, i.e. Proximity trainers.

I have not seen where Reinspectors are being moved into hubs. Reduced, yes. Posting again, in some areas.

I doubt they will do away with Proximity Reps. all together, but they will likely be reduced and utilized on "complex" claims only.

SF is following what other insurance companies are doing. No more or less. This is the route most of them have gone.

I think about half the re-inspectors will be left in the field. The trainers for Proximity are being moved inside. The Trainers for Deployed will remain in the field. I think it still means that the field proximity position is questionable long term. Weather Proximity has been using independents for more than a year in my area. As the number of proximity reps dwindles more work will move inside or be augmented by independents. So, I think Proximity reps will either be phased out with the next re-org, or will be whittled down to a minimal presence (think large loss) and then phased out the following re-org. I would guess 5 years tops.
