Has anyone ever been terminated at the store level, but afterward reached out to HR DIRECTORS in Basking Ridge to explain things further, and upon a review by them, been rehired?

You should contact your union rep and put in a grievance, success rates are very high for this situation.
Amen to all.
I don't think I have ever heard that HR did anything to help an employee in the last 10 years. Look for another job, if they didn't want you before you don't need them now.
You don't want your job back there. Trust me the people that have been let go are the lucky ones. Verizon doesn't value their employees. It's a sinking ship and most people there are miserable and looking for other work. They did you a favor you would have just held out not looking for another job.
Thank you
I’ve known a few people who have resigned, and then later on wanted to be rehired and HR refused, citing the likelihood they would simply want to leave again in a short amount of time. I only have ever met one person who left the company for a short time and returned, but their leaving the company was more of a layoff/position elimination scenario.
I know this isn’t what you asked, but, if they let you go, more than likely the people who would know you and your performance well enough that you’d talk to them, had a hand in the decision that was made. There are other jobs out there, focus your energy on them. Retail jobs will not exist forever anyway.
