I've worked for Kmart for years and now I'm being wrongly accused of theft at my store on Aramingo Avenue Philadelphia.
Stores closing soon, I don't know if I should fight it and get my severance or just walk.
Hate this place.

fight it, get a lawyer, and clear your name
If they pursue this go to the highest level possible. First. It is your right. Don't let them bully you. AOS is the name. Highest on the chart of who to contact. You need to protect yourself for your future.
If you are being wrongly accused, there is no proof available. I would fight it. Hard. You do not want that on your employment record especially since you have been there awhile. You are going to need a new job and this could become a problem.
I wonder if it's a way of getting out of paying you severance?
Sears has online a manual of how to conduct an investigation. I forget what it's under but on the Sears system. KMart probably has on too. You need to get access so you can anticipate the steps. At the very least, have someone with you as a witness for all conversations. You are entitled to this with the company. Do NOT sign anything.
@1zqz, you know Kmart and Sears are the same company, right?
I doubt they'd give severance pay to an employee they think stole anything! You'll need to clear your name if you expect to get that.
He said he was wrongly accused, but of course that is what a crook would say. Clear your conscience and confess, accept a plea deal and you'll be out in 5 years. Sears will probably hire you back, just when the transformation kicks in. If you drop the soap, let it be. Caution is the word.
