Thread regarding Qorvo layoffs

Some New Kids on the Block stayed- higher seniority let go

Lay off more experienced, higher seniority employees while newer hires with less than a few years got to stay.

Why?

seniority went out in 1985, it means nothing until it hits you in the face, and it will hit everyone in the face...the youthful young ones just dont get to enjoy it yet.

That’s a silly question! You have more attitude and cost more money, of course they are going to get rid of you first!

Don’t feel bad, it’s just business. The investment class on Wall Street has worked hard to get where they are and they deserve higher returns. In order to have higher margins Qorvo has to cut costs, and older more expensive, less productive employees go first.

They’ll probably replace you with an H1-B visa holder, those guys are really cheap and they have to do everything Qorvo wants or they get fired and shipped back to their home country.

You should have worked harder so you could be a Hedge Fund Manager or something, because nowadays everyone else is just screwed.
