I don’t have a designation. I am an attorney that specializes in both C and S corporations.

SF will have to go public by 2027 (215 ILCS 5/Art. III heading) I. DOMESTIC MUTUAL COMPANIES (Article scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2027)

There will be no Mutual Fund companies allowed after 2027 something Ed Rust wanted years ago.

Wow. I’m NOT seeing a Good Neighbor here, that’s for sure. And THIS is exactly why I left State Farm with double digits of tenure and started over. Employees complained the negativity is coming from the top down. I disagree. People can’t even get along at work or on a website.

Good luck. I really wish everyone that. This type of behavior only thrills the competition to see people chewing into each other this ruthlessly. They’re watching CLOSELY. Including their Executives.

Do you think Ed would have gone with all that money on the table? I don't think so!

Sorry, but Mecherle’s and Rust’s will get zero-the same amount of SF they own today. You don’t understand Mutual comapanies do you?

Mecherle and Rust Families will be the biggest beneficiaries if SF goes public. They still are getting dividends for the original money they put in to start SF. The present executive will get rich but when they are exposed they will be gone from the company and the company has a chance to survive and thrive! People will have a jobs and careers.

You do realize if SF demutualizes the senior officers will inherit 10s of million in stock options and the CEO 100s of millions?

"The only thing that will save the company is to become a stock company and new management come in and clean house!"

Anyone that can look at things with an open mind will clearly see this is the road being traveled. With the mother mutual blinders on its just one guy spoiling the parade.

What is wrong with everyone! SF has been going down since JR took over 30 years ago! All these executives and problems are the result of the incompetence of JR! The only thing that will save the company is to become a stock company and new management come in and clean house!

Family values don’t pay claims and pensions. Our customers don’t care about having an agent or paying more for values. They care about low rates, fast service, and access whenever and where ever they need it.

All-State got that so they bought essurance, Progressive always had a diverse model, Geico...well I’m not sure why people go with them, but now places like USAA and Nationwide are getting diverse into financial services and State Farm is what...no seriously what are we doing to catch up? Chris Paul?

Also, if Ed 3 could have run the company he would be. Family dynasties don’t last forever because at some point the young generation loses motivation because the money has always been there.

my two cents:

read the site rules in the footer. cyberbullying (e.g., abusive things people say about other people - e.g., things about Diane here) is not allowed.

if you havent noticed the site is moderated and posts get deleted.

if you cross the line moderators delete all your messages and ban you forever.

i have no horse in this race, so do not kill the message. i am just saying that folks should be careful and follow the rules to avoid banning

I disagree with a lot of Diane's politics, but you have to admit, she gets the story right more often than she gets it wrong. She had the Sorenson thing before anyone else, and she basically handed the CIAM embezzlement case to the City - who ignored it. She may not be right, but my guess is, there's something to what she's reporting.

In all fairness, reading the rumors here would seem "tipsword" to be the correct spelling

Why do people think there's a W in Tipsord.

Tipsord is spelled wrong in this “article”. People will believe anything they want in this environment.

Sorry to say MT isn’t leaving and what he’s doing will save this company and community.
