$1 Billion Dollar Partnership Fail

The Ericsson + Cisco partnership that was supposed to generate $1b in incremental revenue is dead. Only thing left is some trite resale/IP agreement that will yield a 100m euros at best. The partnership leaders are fired. Left behind is a small unqualified questionable crew to shut the rest down. As a BU person watching the partner org F-up and waste money on resources toward a partnership we told them would never work is bloody annoying to say the least.

The partner org is responsible for this waste of time and effort. E/// has been dying for years and why we had to attach ourselves to them is beyond stupidity. Glad this is finally going away. K, the VP should go away too.

This is nothing new for Cisco.... anyone remember ACBU - Accenture Cisco Business Unit, this was created in Cisco with headcount, investment etc, delivered pretty much f@&k all, and was quietly disbanded... track record of these failures....

All the leader in Ericsson has left. Both companies are struggling within years.

Mobility and cloud are dead businesses for Cisco, if Cisco goes alone. It has to go into the protection of Mobility and Cloud companies else, Amazon, Huawei and Samsung will quietly eat Cisco's Router and Switching revenue also.

This partnership failure is due to the lack of integrate-able products which both the companies don't have and the Executives are technically ill-visioned to see it.

To be honest, I didn't cisco had a partnership with ericsson. I was more surprised that they were still relevant. nobody I know likes those muppets. Asia full of their legacy gear which cause our operations pain.

Where was this $1B in revenue growth supposed to come from?

Would be good to understand what the deal died from...

Why make Billions when we can .... Millions.

I am surprised that people are still thinking about this partnership. I thought this deal is RIP long back. Cisco is all about finding ways to sell their products be it Ericsson or some drug dealer as long as he can sell their products. Ericsson are struggling to make $1B for themselves how would they help Cisco make $B.
