Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

16 Things to Think About BEFORE Layoffs...

Here is an useful list if you think you may be laid off. I stole this list from IBM's layoff board on this site - the original post is here @ScheGbT or www.thelayoff.com/t/ScheGbT - I think many items on the list are also applicable to use here at Qualcomm, feel free to expand the list if you feel something crucial is missing...

Sixteen Things to Think About BEFORE Layoffs...

  1. What are the severance package details?

  2. Can I use personal holidays until I'm gone?

  7. Will I get my outstanding bonus (commissions if in sales)?

  8. What happens I chose not to sign agreement?

  9. Can I extend the time before I go another for x number of months (e.g., due to personal hardship)?

  10. Prepare and send goodbye email to colleagues.

As #17, I'd suggest that you start updating your LinkedIn profile daily. It does not have to be a major update, you can add a word or two, it just needs to be a change. This will bump your profile at the top of recruiter searches as an update indicates that you may be ready to move on... Just do it daily...
