Thread regarding Chicago Bridge & Iron layoffs

CB&I is a funny company

CB&I is the most unethical, unprofessional and corrupt company I have ever seen. They told me I was eligible for rehire. Do not know why they think I would work for them again.

Full of unskilled inexperienced workers but they are cheap, just like CB&I.

You are the kind of people CB&I likes to keep, jerks and bullies! It fits the construction mentality.

English is not an engineers best subject. By the way Mr Smarty Pants, you could not do what I have already done. Now who is the dumb**s?

dumb--s. If CB&I told you that you were eligible for rehire, then you were obviously a brown-nose sycophant, since from your grammar I doubt that you could write your own name without correcting it a few times. Have fun working at Hardees, and try not to f*ck that up too badly in your first week.

"Wouldn’t he say this as he is talking about his region of responsibility?"

That is what I thought at first. However, Technology is all in Woodlands, which is not in his area.

This is something for CB&I employees to watch for.

"McDermott also hopes to close a deal to merge with Chicago Bridge & Iron Co (CB&I) in May, said Ian Prescott, vice president of Asia at McDermott.

The merger will add to the two companies’ capabilities and resources in the region, he said.

These include CB&I’s engineering office in New Delhi that employees 600-800 people, its business in Australia, fabrication of storage tanks for liquefied natural gas, oil and natural gas, and its refining and petrochemical technology, Prescott said."

McDermott's main interests in summary are Australian businesses, Gurgaon personnel, SPS, and Technology

"I feel great now that I am not surrounded by stupid policies, CMS. Now that I do not have people hiding things that are just flat wrong. Now that I can understand someone when I speak to them. Need I go on? There are some people that still have moral fiber."

That is typical CB&I employee's experience in a nutshell. I do not how long I will have to put-up with this state of affairs but this is the company culture fostered by senior management and nurtured by HR\Legal.

Really! Already have another job but thanks for the advice.

PS

I feel great now that I am not surrounded by stupid policies, CMS. Now that I do not have people hiding things that are just flat wrong. Now that I can understand someone when I speak to them. Need I go on? There are some people that still have moral fiber.

It hurts when a company cuts you loose , but don't take the millennial low road- blaming everyone else, look in the mirror, answer your own questions. Then put it behind you- look to the future- get moving- go out and find another job. You'll feel better!

No they are not unethical because they let me go. They are unethical because management is greedy and lacks in experience.

Are they unethical because they let you go?

Or did you leave due to the company being unethical?

Change is coming, think it’ll be good for both companies. Maybe not for all individuals though

There won’t be a CB&I for anybody to work but a McDermott contaminated with CB&I crap. How this buyout go through is yet to be seen despite top executives are MDR biased.
