One useless department with inflated paychecks and egos. It's jurassic park. Why wait to close shop?

Not really. We know what happens next; lots of CRD layoff, both voluntary and involuntary. 30% seems entirely likely given Octanes estimates. Remember, this is all about Q managements reaction to Octane. Nothing about targeting inefficiencies or stopping dead end projects. Its all about chopping 30%.
We will be left with a smaller, bitter and wounded organization that faces years of departures.
CRD doesn't work on moonshots or pie in the sky ideas. It just tries hard to keep up with the internet giants. Their results are usually unflattering. Can easily be laid off in one piece to boost stock value.
"Heard only the folks who are not impacted have received the voluntary separation emails!"
Probably not true. CAD was notified of voluntary separation but also it was noted that a 40% reduction would take place. Ouch.
Folks
Remember
Qualcomm is a wireless company
To have wireless download speed of 1Tbps
CRD has to be there.
What will happen to the self diving smart toaster with Bluetooth video?
Kickstarter !
Dont forget about the Internet of Things laundry with 3D streaming movie machine.
The 7G 300GHz standard will be put out to NASA. Per Octane, blue sky, pie in the sky belongs in goverment funded agencies or, if vaguely possible, small start ups to implement.

Not surprising. CRD was a bottomless money pit. QCT made the money and these bozos ate it. 30% cut can be easy and you will still not see any noticeable difference in productivity. Most of them are useless.
Not true, voluntary separation is only extended to the groups that are impacted the most.
