Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Clerks stand up

ok..enough...we are stronger than they think, I'm going to start calling res.for living and tell them I'm so stressed about work I can't work...Can we all do that? I want a new job description and SOP. Where is that? Besides ghost busters who can we call about that or email? I have nothing to loose but the sheer fact that I might get under their skin would make me happy....A while back there was a newspaper in Bentonville that was publishing articles about these layoffs can anyone tell me what paper that was...I'm ready to make my voice heard.....They can do and will do what ever their plans are but I plan to be heard...

Maybe they should just roll the clerks into a CM position since they'll be closing all the clubs without you.

That's the most self-centered post I've seen on this site.

wake Up clerks. Thank you for your past, well done jobs. Welcome to the future. It’s a different structure, come out more on the receiving dock and let your leader help you adjust to the new normal.

"The clerk position is one of the hardest jobs on the club. Just because you never had the opportunity to be a clerk doesn't mean you need to be spiteful and jealous. Most of us are 20+ year associates. We are the backbone of our club. Without us these clubs will start to fail. Watch and see how many clubs end up falling apart and closing if they take away the clerk position!"..................I agree....I am not a clerk or rec TL but I have worked in and around rec long enough to know that the clerk has sssooooooo much more on their work plate in most clubs than just receiving work..............I am looking forward to seeing heaps and mounds of stuff on the dock left undone because there is no one there knowledgeable to do it ....there will be missing UPS and Fed ex....the freezers will be full of donations that NO ONE but receiving seems to be able to do.....piles and piles of garbage at the compactor because lazy managers will not come and unlock it.....skid after skid of wine left unwrapped because no one else will take care of it after it comes in the building.....all the dock doors filled with full pallet and bail trucks because no one but clerks no how and or when to schedule pick ups.......................gonna be great to see !!..................................and yes I believe that those who are saying clerks do nothing are either jealous and have wanted the job or HAVE ZERO IDEA ABOUT ANYTHING TO DO WITH RECEIVING.................

I’m a receiving lead but even now I am realizing clerk just wants to sit in office. Work isn’t there but still analyzing stuff on a computer, probably repeatedly. Clerk is difficult and thinks they are better or is better than lead and deserves something and undermines me with toxic talk. Clerks stand up! And walk onto the dock and join your team already.

Please do not classify all clerks into one category. Our clerk works just as hard on the dock and floor as well as the office. Haters gonna hate and if you have never worked as clerk, then you have no say in the matter.

Yeah at my Sam’s club the receiving clerk whines and acts like they still have a bunch of work to do. It’s a big transition, get out of the chair put your big person panties on ok

stand up to what?? the job is going away so deal with it. many others have you’re not the first and you are not special. stop sitting on your hands and whining because no one cares. you have been given time to figure it out so look to the future and leave the dramatics behind

Clerks been here so long they’ve already grown roots. Nobody here that long is strong enough to break free from the ground called their lifetime clerk career

No one is going to "stand up and be heard," because they're scared they may lose the opportunity to move into another position and continue to worry if their position is going to go away, the club closes suddenly, or worse, they end up staying and busting their butts for a bunch of ungrateful higher ups who could care less whether you live or die. It's funny because the people that have stayed for years and years (including myself) think that they should stay where they make decent money and care about their job and the people they work with. Well, that's all history. Do whatever makes you happy but after 29 years, I can't wait to get out. : )

OMG! You are NOT the only position in this company! If you're that stressed out then quit! You are making all of the other competent clerks look ridiculous. Wait it out like all the other positions have or had to do. Can't imagine what is must be like working along side of you.

And that paper that you are looking for in Bentonville? It's call the comics section.
