The commenters here are very angry they got the RIF but sometimes that happens when a company changes but overall Oracle is a good place to work, or for me it has been very good and I like my manager, there are bad teams but that is true at all company’s.

You might very well be one of the next big bunch to be laid off. You will then find out that your time at Oracle was wasted, you've got nothing to put on your resume that anyone wants.
You are going to find out that Oracle on your resume is NOT a plus. Oracle is the country club. People outside of Oracle think of it as that. It won't be a good thing.
I am fine getting lay off if I get Oracle on my resume. Drawing a paycheck is better sitting home on my arse.
College kid comes in, thinks they will make great money and get gold experience. They get some training, get fed, get to party and have fun.
Then disenchantment sets in. Selling this stuff over the phone is hard. Customer don’t like your company and hang up on you and ignore your emails. Finally you break through and get a sale. There are high fives all over. Life is good again. Then the customer calls back complaining about issues with the software or the billing or support. You have to clean up the mess. You get distracted from selling. You then have recruiters calling you about more interesting opportunities and much better pay. So guess what? You leave.
And they wonder why turnover is through the roof. It’s a somewhat toxic environment and they don’t want to pay.
That’s the MH formula of success and why he is paid the salary he is paid. He obviously earns every penny and there is no other exec out there that can match his talent level. It’s good to know Oracle is in good hands. I wish I didn’t dump the stock not long ago as I’m kicking myself in the rear.

Is Oracle having trouble filling the Dialing-for-Cloud-Dollars seats or something? What else can explain the cheerleaders and their b.s. "Oracle is a great place to work" schtick??

OP, I have a simple question for you, why you checking Oracle layoff site when you like Oracle? That just doesn’t make sense.
