Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Why?

Why are they offering overtime to catch up to meet members needs, maybe they shouldn’t have laid off people. Why are there threads talking about layoffs, if they’re offering overtime to staff because they see the work load can’t be done with the set up that’s in place? What the heck?

Most clinical licensure requires several thousand hours of supervised practice before able to get the clinical licensure.

My error, I thought you were talking about all the hcmss being licsened clinical social workers, when you said licensed at the masters level

@ -4fym. You are extremely incorrect. Not all levels of SW licensure allow licensees to do therapy. It varies state by state, but each state has very specific laws. Generally only the LCSW level is able to perform psychotherapy and/or diagnose DSM dx.

All licensed social workers are able to do therapy, they are clinicians. Most agencies require a license to do therapy, but many people do therapy without it..good point about the RIF and the IMBH, maybe they didn’t have the mental health background that’s needed

Regarding HCMSS, all are licensed at the MSW level, but not all are clinically licensed which allows them to do therapy. They say IMBH won't be allowed to do therapy either so not sure why we couldn't just use some of our clinically licensed SSs and cut back on SS RIFs???

Aren’t all hcmss licensed at this point? I get why IMBH needs licensed staff, I wonder how many hcmss that were rif got on there, and how many hcmss are left...as much as overtime was offered, and not doing warm transfers, the queue is not getting any lower

HCCP HCMSSs have also temporarily been approved for OT this week and possibly next. Given our director has not yet been replaced and our COM is now only referred to as part of the “leadership team,” Im not sure if its legitimately too help us get caught up, or if its to get members helped and moved to monitored faster so they can execute round #752. Licensed therapists have been hired for IMBH team, which makes no sense since they can’t do therapy and we already have numerous licensed therapists on staff as SSs. I guess we’ll find out in the next few months.

SNP which did NOT have any HCM layoffs this round is offering OT. SNP and HCCP are different programs with different compliance levels and staffing needs.

Not a lot of overtime happening on my team. Every minute Over has to be approved

I know they’re still hiring for the program that they have a contract with government with. Did they hire for the HAH program ? Humana has different programs they use care managers for . The qualifications are very specific for those programs

Want to hear something really good? They just hired more care managers!!!!! Maybe they shouldn’t have let so many go. Makes no sense to spend all that money to go through onboarding and training.

That’s a scary but real possibility if they layoffs are true. Doesn’t make sense all the recent RIF, they must have anticipated this increase

Or they’re offering OT to get us caught up so members can get moved to minitored in time for the next layoffs. I wouldnt be surprised but hopefully not.
