Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Exciting time for IBM

(yes, that's sarcasm)

With all of the talk about that age discrimination article, news about more layoffs, and everything generally going to hell lately, it's really exciting to work at IBM right now. Only, I could really use some less excitement right about now.

For example, it would be really nice to have job security back...

Sorry, just venting a bit.

If IBM had put the effort into building great products that it put into financial engineering these past years, it might have done well. If it had treated and paid its engineers as well as the hordes of lawyers it relies on, it might have done well.

Hey hey, ho ho, Ginni's got to go. Hope the whole company goes out on her reign of terror and she can fly away to her swiss chalet she keeps bragging about.

The more digging I do, the more I find on IBM's age discrimination practices. Despite being called out for age discrimination in hiring, they have continued to skirt the laws just enough to continue their discriminatory practices.

I am old enough to remember when IBM was a great place to work. Too young to retire but too old to find a decent new job. I should be in the prime of life but instead I work my a$$ off and dread every call from my manager. IBM ruins lives.

I agree, too much excitement. And with all the excitement occupying our minds there is not a lot of work getting done.

You've been at the wrong place for a while, then...
