Thread regarding Sears layoffs

What happens in bankruptcy?

I know when the company liquidates, employees get no severance, but is the situation the same with bankruptcy?

Is there any money allotted for workers or do we come last in that case as well?

If that's the truth, than those who were laid off recently with severances should be jumping for joy.

Yup that is true. My dad worked for another company over 30 years ago, company went belly up because of debt and of course my dad got dicked out of back pay and severance because when you are owed money who gets it first and also the most? The government.

If the store is closing and goes into a liquidation sale as long as you stay on until the end you get your severance. If the company goes bankrupt you get nothing.
