The reason why Trump saved QCOM had nothing to do with jobs. That was stated quite explicitly.
PJ spent what little political capital Qualcomm had left to stop Broadcom.
Trump was smart to do it because there was no political downside, it was never about saving Qualcomm.
Qualcomm is not a source of American jobs anymore and hasn't been for 20 years, Qualcomm is just an H-1B Sweatshop that's been slowly moving overseas anyway, so Trump has no interest in Saving Qualcomm.
The only person who's done anything remotely intelligent here is Trump, along with those Qualcomm employees who are American citizens who got out in the last 5 years, before the job market is flooded with ex-Qualcomm engineers.
