Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

EEOC - Speak Out

EEOC claim mailed in re age discrimination, retaliation, hostile work environment, etc. I decided to speak up about unethical and probably illegal treatment I experienced.

Encouraging all experiencing discrimination to file EEOC claim.

You can set up in their system and get an appointment that is months away to then file your claim and or mail in your claim request per their website. EEOC is federal government and in many states your filed claim with EEOC also handle state investigation.

They will review and determine if they will investigate and if they do they will interview employees and request documents and seek remedial corrections, etc.

As I have ALWAYS known–State Farm is a racist and discriminatory company. Anyone over 40, minority, and not part of the "club"–are in fear of losing their jobs.

@Suxjo8F-6Owwh I wouldn't be so quick to say that those who make a complaint to the EEOC are going now where fast. It really all depends on the situation. Also the EEOC is a good place to start but if they don't agree doesn't mean there aren't other avenues to take. Everything depends a lot on the employment laws of your state, I just erased a whole bunch of stuff I typed because I would rather do it in a private message like I said in my post last night because there is so , so so much more in regards to this that really matters. There really is. People need to do there research in areas of employment law and research employment lawyers blogs and websites. Educate and above everything else the number one thing is do not get so frustrated , hurt, bewildered etc and walk out because that is what they are planning on most doing and if you do that , you have lost because you will have nothing to prove that you tried everything and followed the process set forth in the SF Employee Manual to resolve the issue.. So very important , can't stress it enough.

If we all sign a petition that says we're concerned about Tip's vacations with Putin, we will probably get a quicker non-response from DOJ, EEOC, and Pelosi.

Unless you refused to sign the separation agreement (if applicable), you're going nowhere fast with EEOC.

I can't say who I am but I will say that anyone who is thinking about filing with the EEOC or has its a good thing. I won't go into detail on this post because the number one thing all of you need to remember is don't trust anyone in management , HR , Executive or number one Human Resources. Please take this seriously. If you feel you are headed that way , meaning getting pushed out, if someone can find away for me to communicate what I need to to all of you I will but I won't do it on here because I will bet you any amount of money that they have people in place just to monitor and dig , just like I just dug after not digging for a while, to find post just like this so it tips them off of how people are feeling, what people have in mind to do and the number one thing is don't let them know anything. They aren't letting anyone know anything they are up to. Just stringing people along until they do another restructure and once is almost in place you will start to see some top employees start to get harassed but theres one thing about that that most don't know. I really wish I could just spill my guts but I won't because it will not benefit anyone on here that is going through something and if its being monitored then even though they don't know who you are posting , I don't put anything past them. Not even hiring someone to hack this system , to find IP addresses to track down who is posting on this post. Some might laugh and say , OH come on, Well guess what I had first hand experience but they underestimated me completely. I hate to say this but it doesn't matter how good of an employee you have been for years and years , once the order is given to get you out of there ....its unbelievable the deceit, back handed, narcissistic total head games they will pose on you to where you find yourself questioning yourself. And that is what they mean to do . Exactly . Thats the plan to get to you to the point where you just get fed up of all the twisted comments and lies , that your looking at them like WTH are you talking about , or if your waiting for answers when you don't get the raise you know you should have gotten knowing you even did better then the year before but yet your not getting it. Numbers get fudged on your review and stats. Like they will show you they evaluated , listened to lets just an example 35 calls. Out of that 35 calls there was only two where in 1 area on each one of those two you got marked on. But when you get your evaluation on the calls its marked as a below the normal average and you didn't do well. Well how is that possible if out of 35 calls on 2 , in one section of the phone evaluation on each one was marked. How is that .....Wanna know the answer ..... I don't know is just is ...I don't know. You don't know....shrug of the shoulders ....Nope is just what it came out to be.. Well that's mathematically impossible . Yeah well ...another shrug of the shoulders ....don't know what to tell ya. Really...Its c-ap like that that goes on , then stops then when you least expect ...bam here comes another bunch in the stomach.....but only this time some of the people that you opened doored like their bosses boss who was right on top of it ...and you leave thinking they are because they couldn't believe what the other Supervisor or mgr did ...but guess what ....they are in on it also..so when you bring it up.....its like what are you talking about ...So be prepared. But I know I can with 100 % confidence help and its the help that most wish they would have had and known while they were going through it. I didn't have any but my gut and remembering what I was told when I was younger by a very dear dear person to me and I listened to that advice and it served me well. So if anyone wants to give me there info somehow or can think of a way to communicate without posting your phone number on here, or your name I will be more then happy , as a matter of fact , I will be so fing elated to let you know every bit that I know ...I think I can it would make the rest of my life like I won the lottery, or like you would feel if you woke up every morning and your view was the beach , and you didn't have a care in the world . That kind of bliss if not better. . LOL So I will be watching for replies. and on a serious note , I hope that what I know and went through really helps a lot of people because believe me when I tell you ..I more then know what a devastating , bunch in the gut it truly is. Its very very heart sickening to give your whole work career giving 100 % to a company that you trusted only to be discarded like and treated like , the total opposite.

State Farm routinely discriminates against employees over 40, minorities and those who use FMLA protection. I have over 100 documents to prove my point and I, along with a few others, have filed an EEOC complaint. We are hoping this EEOC issue becomes a class action because there are so many examples of racism and discrimination at this company. I still work there because I need the money, but everyday I cringe when I go to work. The leaders are racist and if they are out to "get you", they will stop at nothing. State Farm is the KING of retaliation and the Ethics Hotline is a joke because HR will ALWAYS support the company's misbehavior. I hope the EEOC is reading this information because it looks like a lot of people are going through illegal actions from State Farm, but most are afraid to complain officially and most cannot just walk away.

I think everyone who is 40+ that has been terminated should file an EEOC complaint. I know as a fact that there are several. It takes action from everyone to make a statement and have numbers to prove allegations.

I say report to EEOC if you have been discriminated against. It will likely not change anything, but not calling them out on their behavior is wrong too.

I am a over 50 employee and I have spoken to HR, a section manager and the ethics hotline (twice ) about age discrimination and blatant favoritism. Nothing happened. My entire team is held to a higher standard then any other team at our location and the over 50 are excluded from many things. Progress/accomplishments are not acknowledged, failures or areas that need improvement are dwelled on. I do get to do anything that will help my career move forward--presentations, ect. even though I volunteered.

I will be fired soon for inconsistencies in my metrics due to schedule outages and other issues ( L&I claim injured my arm and working with a cast on slows everything down) I have no control over that are not taken into consideration. I never had these issues prior to this team. Several who were top performers prior to being on this team are on the verge of being fired.

Other teams do not have to meet the standards we do--our standards are not in the SCP's. So doing what is in the SCP's isn't good enough we have to do it the way we are instructed or we are given lower scores. Unless you are a favorite then it's all good. There is no consistency at this company and no one cares.

I can't sleep well, my migraines have increased and I am starting to look forward to being let go.

I am resigned to the fact that unfairness & lack of caring is the SF standard.

I wouldn’t conclude that Cororate Legal is completely insulated by EEOC allegations. You may think every I dotted and T crossed.,,, They make mistakes

Also, don't forget the vacation time you have but cannot take. Points for an emergency. We have had someone taken away by ambulance that got points. So stupid.

SF botched so much, that they may very well botch these age-discriminatory firings as well.

BUT... age-based discrimination is much harder to prove than other EEOC categories like race, religion, etc. Government supports businesses in avoiding liability.

This type of lawsuit will likely fail because: 1) some firings are for those under 40, AND 2) you'd have to prove that age was the ONLY factor. SF has their bullet list for defense ready to go.

SF has easily done enough to skirt around age-descrimination at least as a class action. There certainly could be individual cases with unique circumstances that have merit.

Make no mistake though - SF is clearly targeting older, high-earners for termination. It's cold, it's smart, it's against the spirit of the law, and they will get away clean (well, legally. The company is declining at an ever-increasing rate).

This is true. Many companies have been sued. It’s a gamble but it might be worth it to prevent it from happening further.i habpvent witnessed SF doing much of anything right. I’m sure this happens in their legal department as well. All the inbreed’s hiring their own on.

I am in.

It is a fine line State Farm is following but rest assured State Farm legal has them on the right side of it.

You don't know that for certain. Big companies with teams of lawyers have been successfully sued in the past for such things.
