Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Citrix (Left, Right or Detour)?

I can never wrap my own head around it, why so much restructuring? What is Citrix's target?

Are we competing in the cloud? Are we competing in EUC? Are we the only ones left in virtualization (deemed legacy)?

What's our new direction?

I've been with Citrix quite a long time. From what I have seen over the last 6-8 years, Citrix just keeps cutting expenses everywhere they can find, decreasing operating costs annually to help make numbers. The last layoffs/restructuring that I saw that actually got rid of dead weight across the board was 2009. The last several layoffs, 90% of it has made little sense internally. Lots of good, hard workers let go in the past 8 years. Most people at FTL HQ are doing the work of AT LEAST 2 people. Our once top notch tech support is stripped to the bone with long hold times and lots of inexperienced staff that has little historical product knowledge. Our engineering teams that build and fix the products are cut even further, that our product quality is in the toilet. IT, Marketing, Sales.....large cuts everywhere. Good, quality people left internally won't apply for internal positions where they could help the company thrive, because everyone is worried that any new position they take will be cut in the next round of layoffs. But because FTL is not a big tech area, lots of people with more than 10 years tenure won't leave. Moving out of state would be the only play for them to get similar pay.

The new AWS workspaces and App streaming 2.0 will put the nail in the Citrix coffin. Citrix continues to exist due to the installed base which will will soon migrate to other products very quickly.

The ELT knows this and is desperately grabbing every last RSU to line their pockets before this titanic sinks into to icy cold waters of technology company oblivion.

Windows Server 2019? They are obsolete already. Companies do just fine with any VPN and any cloud service, Office 365, etc. They are stuck with their outdated tech and no real innovation.

The Citrix ELT clowns are just parading on main street the old tech as the new tech. Its all about creating hype on wall street for tech that is already outdated and about to be made obsolete by Windows Server 2019.

its just a money grab for the ELT, look at how many RSUs they gave themselves, while most employees just got crumbs.
