All automakers have now resorted to a tactic where they have had to buy back many vehicles from their dealers due to massive channel stuffing, which is forcing their dealers to buy far more vehicles than they want.
Well dealers finally had enough and are threatening legal action based on their contractual rights, so automakers have had to buy back vehicles, and are re-selling them, then booking the sale twice. Yes, you think this is made up but it is not.
Desperate corporations do desperate things, and carmakers are very desperate right now, as their sales have been falling for over a year already. So now GM suddenly says they will only report numbers every 3 months, and you watch as all automakers follow, so they don't have to lie as often and risk being caught.
This is the true heart and nature of corporations when things get ugly. Most of you have yet to learn just how bad these entities are.
