well, after 24 years 11 months I am "retired". Took severance. Could have been part csm part service desk, yeah right. No way would I get 80 hours a paycheck again. Not to mention Mon-Fri, etc. At least I have the discount for life!!!!
Had been csm back 21 years ago for 3 years and got raise to go into c/o the be 3rd full timer there!
People are right we were the ones who figured it all out and boy are they going to miss us.
At our store the accounting associate just got the CSM supervisor position and still is working the hours she works and doing the accounting office duties they said that they did away with it but not at our store she now makes more money because she went from a level 5 to alevel 6 position I guest all stores are different

The Csm’s will NEVER succeed doing accounting office duties. They can’t even handle their own duties. Good luck! You’re gonna need it!
Let’s be honest you have NO clue what the asscounting associates do. I have been a CSM and guess what a monkey can do your job. A manager that’s a laugh you can’t figute out how to do anything with out call the cash office. And you can’t figure out how to balance lines or call for back ups. I can’t count the number of times I’ve had to come out and save your sorry a--. You have a degree who cares. You were a teacher who cares. You think your better then anyone else your not. When it’s time for a CSM to do the cash office of course it will be easy because all the things they have done is being eliminated. And guess what MOST accounting associates are being made CSM and guess why. Because management knows you can’t do your job and someone has to come save you. Good luck with the c-appy attitude. I for one Amy greatful for all the cash office associates.
Sorry Accounting associates! I truly am. But lets be realistic! Most of accounting associates were only cashiers to began with! CSM's are more qualified than most of you! Yea maybe with Hates Audits!, but that's only because we are so busy trying to keep the front end moving, cashiers and customers happy. We can juggle about 4-5 things at a time. With lights blinking, Managers in our ear, running all over the store! I myself have a degree! I am a CSM and work another full time job! A lot of the CSM's I work with have retired from 20-30 year jobs! some are and were teacher's, and all kinds of professions! So get off your high horse! I wonder why Wal-mart didn't consider making you guys CSM's! Because were're Managers and you"re Not!

Walmart announced it today... It will go into effect in October! Csm's will spend 2 hrs daily doing what the cash office associates did in the morning
Accounting routines left to csm lol they have to be threatened to do audits let alone accounting duties corporate be realistic not gonna happen. Got to put phone block on my phone. Things that csm suppose to deal with accounting fixes. They use countdown room as lounge and lunch room. Open slot machine for csm and good luck on gething mngt to audit recycler not gonna happen.
I've heard June 8th but not sure if its company-wide or just some markets. I think C.O. was once more aligned with asset protection than anything and on its way to being more managerial than anything. The CSMs struggle now to answer all help requests through the handheld, cover areas short, cashier, answer phones before 10 a.m., cover breaks everywhere and the list goes on. The $1 differential amounts to $40 per week is all. And soon accounting duties!?!

That is truly scary for csm to assume accounting duties. They can't even perform a proper audit let alone count. Big mistake with pending self checks coming soon. Walmart should have down sized csm and put the accounting associate to manage registers and customer issues hell they come to me all day for help. They are also the root cause in why the cash recycler breaks down all the time and leave the accounting associate to deal with the issue. If this company only knew but yet looked over how important it is to keep accounting or at least change their title to csm accounting something along those lines. I hope corporate reconsiders this decision and evaluate in protecting company assets. You will be surprised on how many csm and mngt that don't understand how to interpret cash recycler reports as well and how to resolve exceptions and also understand root cause and research.
I think this is teally old. Tge “Accounting Office Associate” title per se was eliminated a long time ago.

Talking points were posted on Facebook a few days ago. Still in test pilot but you can believe it’ll be rolling out company wide soon enough.
Full time accounting associates are being eliminated with only one part time associate left in accounting. Opening CSM will take on most of the full time accounting associate duties.
