Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Systems

Can someone briefly tell me what jobs would fall under the Systems heading. I’m proximity auto and apparently live in a closet.

To move on successfully you are going to need to knock being so arrogant out.

You have reading comprehension issues. There was nothing arrogant about my post.

Passwords and userIDs dropped. By the way, run a f---ing virus scan.

State Farm is not as big and complicated as you may think. No one is in awe of our network. To move on successfully you are going to need to knock being so arrogant out. If we are indeed the biggest and the best we wouldn’t be in this drastic cut situation. It’s embarassing how out of control the Farm is. Years and years of not knowing enough about business to run it properly. Luck on the investment side has kept us afloat. Going on interviews people ask what went wrong? I want to say EVERYTHING. People in decision making positions have no idea what they are doing.

These are the roles responsible for building software/hardware systems at State Farm. This includes databases that house State Farm's massive amounts of data and applications/systems responsible for doing everything from launching mail campaigns, to analyzing customer data for trends, to providing customers the ability to receive auto quotes via online processing.

State Farm has the second largest privately owned network in the country and tens of thousands of different software processes.

Common roles involve requirements analysis, systems architecture, project management, system build, and systems maintenance. Roles like business analyst, project manager, java developer, COBOL developer, test analyst, network analyst, distributed analyst, performance scripter, and so on and so forth.
