Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

we are exiting dsd

Anyone with even half a brain has to see what’s coming. Those that continue with the “we are too big”, and “my boss said”, are simply just not wanting to believe the inevitable. An exit from dsd has been in the works for some time, not just by Mondelez but by retailers as well. Confidentiality agreements in place to keep things quiet until it is officially announced, lots of people will be losing jobs. Won’t change the outcome but good to prepare yourself.

East Area Sales Reps. Friday June 28th is the day for us all to call in sick and stick it to management. Send them a message about how we feel about them sending us to the warehouse in 2020 and cutting our bonuses this year. Let’s stick it to them, it will be wicked awesome to see their reaction, or lack of one probably.

According to the quarter 3 earnings call the CEO said restructuring will be in full effect JANUARY 2019. We will here about it all I’m sure at sales rep rally’s with our regional management teams. Just like the Walmart orders bomb they dropped on us January 2018. Things aren’t looking good and investors are sceptical. Let’s hope we get fair warning if anything takes a turn for the worst. Keep your morale up and your eyes forward, we got sh-- to do and incentives to earn.

The shareholders won't like hearing your scerino. DSD is a drain and Nabisco won't grow with DSD. Dirk laid out his new plan. Layoffs are coming. Don't be so naive

I think you are the fool. If you work for Nabisco then go ahead and get out. If you don't work for Nabisco then why are you worried about it? DSD is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Doesn’t necessarily mean no layoffs, however from the announcement made today DSD is here in some form for the foreseeable future. Structure of exactly how we do DSD could still change a bit

And surprise to me, I thought for sure we would be gone soon

DSD is staying! Only some upper management positions are going away. No layoffs

I willing to bet your wrong. "Alternative fact's" like fox and friends. The only place they can save the hundreds of millions a year to invest in e-commerce, expanding markets and marketing is right here in the U.S. DSD is draining our profitability. DSD isn't used anywhere else in the world. If it was money maker it would be. At the very least it will out sourced 3rd party. Share holders are running out of patience.

Yep just Latin America. We're not going away from DSD in the states! We make them so much money! We're too big to go warehouse. Nabisco refused to pay the slotting fees. More"Fake News!" You guys are like CNN on here!

Just read an article on nasdaq. Restructuring is on track. Cost savings will fund projects with potential growth. Not here in N.A. Sorry, put your pom pom's away. These cost saving's are coming from layoff's and asset disposal. This will be over sooner than you think.

I work for Mondelez and I never heard of us leaving DSD. That was Keebler. We're too big to leave DSD. We make too much money

DSD is staying. They're just trying to bust the union. Ontario CA is going 3rd party.

It will happen. When it happens I'm unsure. I've heard by 2020 but who knows. Could be sooner. Do the best you can while you're here. Build your contacts. Start looking. Don't settle. Thank God for Trump being in office. Economy is better. More jobs out there. Good luck

The biggest store in the city I live in has about 8 bags of tate's on the shelf. Every time I look there is none missing. Even if we did handle it, it wouldn't move the needle. Not a main stream item. Way over priced. I'll stick to reading the wall street analysis of our operation and continue believing this is quietly and systematically winding down.

I'm very confused!! If we're exiting DSD why are we picking up Tate's? The way we're doing business, I find it hard to believe that DSD will be much longer. Any thoughts?

DSD will be ending! They are just a little premature on here. DSD will be ending sometime next year is what I've been told. I work in the Deerfield office. Upper management has been told of the changes that will occur. One team one dream campaign was put out there to keep employees from jumping ship prematurely. Mondelez values DSD and their employees. The retailers are the reason why DSD is ending. Not Mondelez!

Quarter ending June 30, 2018 Revenue $6.11 Billion for net profit of $323 Million. Sounds good? Not really. Last year same time $5.99 Billion revenue for a net profit of $498 Million. I'm no rocket scientist but it looks like we're going backwards. I wonder if thats the reason EVP Maurizio Brusadelli dumped 7,381 shares for $322,844.84 last friday.

You had two pallets 2 years ago?!? Wow. I haven't seen a pallet (pallets plural for summer at the beach) for at least 3 years.

As for exiting, if they actually are doing the investing they say they Are, I'm skeptical about it happening in the next couple years. You don't invest then do a complete 180.

It could be misleading information from higher ups, but I'm still of the notion that it's not happening until next year or beyond either way.

I believe dsd will not be around much longer because with walmart doing cap dsd vendors are only suppose to have enough back stock to get them to next truck. I remember when Nabisco, coke, pepsi and frito was allowed 2 pallets of back stock in a small walmart less than 2 years ago n now with cap dsd they are only allowed half of a bin. Walmart is pushing for vendors to go thru their warehouse and if not then asn or pay from scan.
