Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

MST group interesting facts ( Friday was my last day in QC)

well Friday was my last day in QC , I am from MST group its an interesting group , every year the number of engineers are going down but surprisingly the VP and SR director count has gone up .

Instated of kicking out a VP or Sr director they kicked out Sr Engineers and Staff , not sure how much money they are going to save by kicking out Sr Engineers and staff Engineers .

earlier there was no VP for 600 odd engineers now there are two VPs for 400 off engineers same Director and Sr directors ......

Gotta keep management to oversee the off-shore teams. They'll be expanding as US headcount goes down through lay-offs and attrition. In other words, rest-n-vest continues.

There are too many VP's .sr directors ,directors & principals hoarding titles & equipment's in this group most of them redundant.

I want to say 'Welcome to Qualcomm' but considering you are on your way out, you will not see this type of mushroom in any other company in the world for sure.

Exec trying to get the stock up a little so they can cash out, they know it's going down but if they can convince the street 5g is God they might make a little extra dough for that 3rd vacation house.

Before I left, NJRC had about 20 directors for <300 employees. I'm willing to bet after the layoff, the director count stayed the same.

That scenario is a recipe for disaster, no good can come of it.

Typical. I worked on server. Best performing CPU SOC I have ever seen. 10s of Ks of orders to the likes of Facebook, Cloudflare and Microsoft. Just goes to show how much “quit” is in SM.

SM continually snatches failure from the jaws of success. I wish the AVGO had gone through. At least my vested RSU would be worth 50% more. And I would have had a job through 2019.

Sad and angry at the retards in QC “leadership”. Good luck brother.
