Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Voluntary layoffs?

Am I getting this right? Some posts here are indicating that there are voluntary layoffs at play here? Or am I getting this all wrong?

If there is an option to volunteer for a layoff I'd take it in a second. I've been meaning to leave for a while now, but I'm always scared that I'll regret it. If I had a severance package as a safety net, I'd leave today.

hee he... yea that's the ticket call HR when you get em tell them, We who are about to be let go are being buried alive in trash. Every C.O is the same lots of trash and the last square of toilet paper was used long ago. If you're young keep moving find another job where they can afford toilet paper, If you're older and have worked here any time at all you already know how to scoot across the floor or bring your own toilet paper. Good Luck to all...

No one I know who was laid off had the option of it being "voluntary" like in the past. It may depend on if you are union or not.
