Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Is it like this all over Verizon (non retail/sales/installers)

I work in regulatory for HQ. I have not been with Verizon for decades like some, but the last year or so has been awful. It is clear the $10b Capex saving goal has reduced our budgets to bare bones. I couldn't even get a stick of RAM for my new laptop to perform work functions faster.

Is it like this in all other departments? I actually have unique skills as opposed to the rest of my division who's qualifications are 'I've worked here for 15 years and can't use Excel' so I'm not tied to this job like most are, but I keep asking myself why the fck would i want to stay at Verizon? Our director and above made a decision to materially degrade the quality of our work and have everyone all freaked out all the time. The low performers and people with no skills are still here though, collecting hundreds of thousands of dollars in salary while we need VP level approval for a stick of RAM.

Just wondering if anyone else that isn't in a retail/install job is feeling this same thing. I know retail blows.

Get out. I think I remember those issues from last year (Q3 and Q4)).

Regulatory =s Risk. All of you little pups hired in 2017 - the writing was on the wall when Tom retired. You have a solid year on your resume - use it for a better opportunity. It was a pleasure to work with you guys - even if it appeared someone kept to themselves. It was more a "detachment" as I had so many offers and knew I was going to bounce.

Just go - there's not going to be the growth we saw 10 years ago . The Risk talent is just that - talent. Just be out for yourselves with that talent.

The short answer is yes. It's like that everywhere and most people feel the same way as you.
