Automation for engineers , assignors and central office techs. Too many.

Contract out engineers (being done now) have the assigning made more automatic, have COT’s watch more than one office , remotes monitored by smaller crew who then dispatch someone to replace cards and rectifiers in multiple areas. Do more with less.

These areas need to be concerned. See major cuts in these areas.

100 remotes is small. You must live in a more rural area. There are places that have hundreds , if not close to a thousand remotes. I would be more concerned about the more metro areas.

I laughed when I saw the have COT'S monitor more than one office comment. We have not had a manned office since we went a hundred percent digital in the early 90s. There are three of us that cover an area of about 50 square miles and probably a combination of a hundred CO's and remotes. We do exactly what you say. Whatever office is in trouble gets the attention. When multiple offices are in trouble at once we determine who is going to get fixed by the number of customers out of service. They couldn't possibly cut CO positions here. Not happening. At least and stay in business. Then they expect us to put in two or three fiber Rads a day too. I can't tell you how many offices have dead batteries and go down when the power goes out because they won't spend money on batteries. Sad situation already.
