"clarity near the middle of the year on DSD."

CEO: Mondelez evaluating DSD as part of strategic review

2/2/2018

Mondelez CEO Dirk Van de Put said direct-store delivery has been "powerful" for the company's US biscuits category, but the company is performing a cost-benefit analysis to determine whether to continue its DSD strategy in the future. "It's part of our strategic review," Van de Put said. "We hope to have clarity near the middle of the year."

Last time I checked I can buy an oreo anywhere in this country, but I would have to drive 500miles to buy something from a Krogers its amazing how they are going to dictate how we do business

You have no proof we are going warehouse. I can point you to dirk saying Tates will use DSD, the mdlz Twitter is posting open sales rep openings, warehouses are buying more space, CAO means nothing my stores have been doing that for years, we are not discontinuing items faster then new ones come out, biscuit numbers are up and it has said will carry the rest of N/A, point me to some info that I can look up. All anyone has said is CAO and stuff they herd from one chain point me to something I can look up until then do your job

Haha! Not Keebler here and don’t live in a tree! Perhaps you’d be better off climbing back under your rock and someone can let you know when it’s time to go!

60 days is all that is required by law! Keebler also offered an incentive that included reps keeping company cars, Keebler took the moral high ground! Mondelez management are scum bags, they are lying through their teeth!! Very telling!

Pay attention here..it’s not Mondelez decision! Retailers are interested in driving profits and this can increase dramatically with dsd!

Wake up people!!

DSD is a cash cow!! No way Nabisco leaves DSD. Sales are up! Also we have to many SKU's to be warehoused! We're not leaving this year or anytime soon! Not in our lifetimes

Regional chains and independents have still not gotten on board yet with kebler. That's a pretty big piece of the pie once you leave middle America

Warehouses only carry a limited line for some of them

Stores dont work the product shelves sit empty during sales, prds and shippers dont get put out

TATES, PFarm, and Nabisco up in most of those chains.

TATES which some of you can even fathom being a good item has taken a 1/3 of keblers space in some of my stores

Stores kill there displays in about a day after a rep comes in a puts a couple out

Mangers dont get product for displays regularly or reliably leading leading to lost sales

What I'm saying is after a year kelloggs still has not figured it all out but we are going to follow them into even worse problems because of our greatly higher volume.

Biscuit dose not lose money in the US the profits could be better BUT in the last 2 quarters it was the warehouse items like gum that was driving NA numbers DOWN.

KELLOGGS DSD business was about 15-20% of there business

MDLZ DSD business is 70% of our business there not going to risk that much until its guaranteed to have it worked out everywhere not just 2 chains that are big in middle America

No dsd exit this year there will definitely be changes and probably some kind of layoffs and cost reduction. It took kebler 6 months to exit from there anocment. That puts us into the following year already.

DSD will not go away and all the locations closed over the last couple of years will be reopened.

Kroger is headed that way, been testing for some time! Working out the bugs. Between those two retailers we are looking at close to 7000 stores, independents will have to get on board, when those two go away from dsd , dsd will cease to exist! It’s all about profit!

CAO isn't the only issue. The real question is how is mondelez and all the retailers going to be more profitable in an increasingly competitive industry.

Dirk has clarity now! That’s why they hired him!! “Near” middle of the year. With the two largest retailers going cao this year, changes are inevitable! Put your head back in the sand till Dirk shares the findings.

If you paid attention, or bothered to follow any of the company’s shared Info, you would know that September is the timeline for when Dirk is announcing the results of the strategic review, and how it applies directly to dsd!

(Im not on any one side)

Can you just clarify the loseing money statement you said,

We dont run biscuit at a loss meaning I costs us more to run then we make because that is true.

We were loseing money for years meaning year after year we made less for the same amount sold is but over the last couple of years it has started to turn around with all the cost reduction and more efficient lines and fewer but larger warehouses the utilize a double trailer system that let's them disconnect one trailer at a local dock for day runs while the 2nd is used for overnight runs

Before the new lines some of the Chicago lines where untouched since the 70s and 80s

Look at the numbers, biscuit may be up but still losing money. Maybe losing a little less! Your trying to connect too many dots...he didn’t say Tate’s was going to be dsd, it will not. They will try to increase penetration of Tate’s, but it won’t be dsd! Your confusing yourself.

In his last shareholders meeting he mentioned that September is when he will be going over his vision and plan for the furture of the company.

Gum and supply issues will mike and coco where the resone for the last bad 1/4

He said biscuit was up overall

In that same meeting a big shareholder asked about TATES and he mentioned DSD in North America is going to be utilized to increase there market penetration. It's only at 40% at the moment. Tates will stay a separately ran company but use MDLZ resources to get it in more stores

Some one posted the audio for this meeting in another thread it's a good listen

It’s lip service! He knows the answer, that’s why he was hired! To bring about change and turn a profit! Just needed time to get everything in place before we exit dsd!! Announcement will come 60 days before our departure, not a minute before!
