Thread regarding Sears layoffs

There’s really a DM over tools?

Tool DM wanting to know why our sales are down 40%

Drive around the corner and Lowes has a nice selection..

Don’t do a complete reset in tools that’s ongoing for 2 months!!

Was nothing wrong with the way it was and everyone knew where stuff was including the customer

Just put prices on all the fixtures as you empty them. Customers might want the empty pegs that tools used to hang on for they're own workshops!

Sears - the Cleveland Browns of retail, a doormat laughingstock with an awful owner who does everything to run his company into the ground.

@2mjh- That still goes on today. We have reorganized and moved out pantry section, our sporting good section and our auto section twice since last October. Every time we get a new DM things change and then corporate wants something and then they dont want something and then they do want something..... Waste of time, labor cost and energy

Back in the early 90's in our store, our tool dept was constantly in a state of flux with aisles being moved around....the store manager wanted it set up one way....then the DM would come in and want things moved around his way....and then a regional big wig would visit and want things moved around to his liking....It was a constant process of tearing aisles apart and moving product from one aisle to another.

I think the claim of up 12% is a Russian Bot

Up 12% in sales in one department at a Sears is like $7.00.

Our districts got shuffled up again, and as usual, we have a new DM on the warpath with the same old spit. More credit cards! Cut payroll and hire more people! And so on, and so on. Typical crap that any rational person would know will have no positive effect on any of the stores. I wonder if these people actually believe any of what they're spewing or are just passing on the venom from RMs and higher. I suppose that we should take solace that we didn't get our old DM back. He was every bit as obnoxious, but just so grating to listen to or read emails from, as despite his namesake, he was definitely no bard.

Our reset actually helped our sales. Everything is condensed and shelves look fuller. We even started receiving merchandise I haven’t seen in months. We are actually up 12% in sales. It looks way better than what it looked like before when we had scattered empty fixtures and repeated merchandise all over the place.
