Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Some good news for a change

Looks like the NXP deal wasn't approved and it is unlikely to happen due to Republicans finally growing some balls and standing up to the idiot Trump by forcing the US to enforce sanctions against ZTE - I predict the Chinese will withhold approval in retaliation.

The NXP merger means nothing but more layoffs for QC, something that has been made crystal clear by management.

Here is the bad news...NXP was part of growth story to drive the stock price. In the end, the management team put themselves in a no-win situation. A poison pill to ward off Hoc ends up being another nail in this management team. So does this mean another stock buy back? More layoffs? Of course, how else do you appease the street.

The last thing Qualcomm or any multi-international company would like to see is Trump's anti-globalization movement. Banning ZTE not only means less chip sales and layoff, but also means China will make everyone use non-US chips, Huawei or MediaTek.

On NXP, they are in orthogonal sectors. Without NXP, there is no growth, more pressure to cut cost.

Your comments made no sense.
