Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

July 25

Is possiblefor qcom to extend the july 25 date again for nxp close? Or is that a final date?

If it is final, i doubt qcom can make it, unless #45 likes giving bj’s to chinese dictators...

This is termination fees... so deal cant be extended. what is point of paying 2B if deal is going to get extended as usual?

"Why wouldnt nxp agree to extend? Being bought for $44 billion seems to be a better deal than $2 billion in fees for not closing."

Yes but that not the deal. Its either "being bought for $44b" or "retaining ownership and getting $2billion in cash for all the trouble and chaos of the last 18 months".

NXP may well be of the opinion they just want to walk away from Qs chaos, exec incompetence, mass layoffs, shutting down of business lines and the US international trade wars and get on with running their profitable and excellent businesses. $2billion cash for their trouble, not bad.

I thought QC has to pay the 2 billion regardless of deal extending.

if they both agree, they can extend. I don’t think that will be the case
