Baker Hughes is laying off 266 people in Comal County.

The Houston energy services company, a subsidiary of General Electric Co. of Boston, reported the layoffs at its Schertz location to the state in a workforce adjustment and retraining notification or WARN notice Friday. A letter sent to the Texas Workforce Commission on June 6 saidthe bulk of the layoffs will start in September and continue through December.

Baker Hughes spokeswoman Melanie Kania said the layoffs are linked to the closing of Baker Hughes' gas processing facility in Schertz by the end of the year "after a careful review of how best to adjust our operations to best align where future business and opportunity exists."

Not the only place BHGE will need to make reduancys from.

The meetings I go to, emails in circulation atleast another 10% mimamum worldwide if not more to balance the continued losses each month.

The company is failing badly with all other service companies making hundreds of millions were well out of it these days.

Heading towards 40000 paid off and still can't make money shows you just now far this once great company has fallen.
