I've seen a lot of posts in various areas about this SemiAccurate article. Almost all of them miss the point, lamenting about the lurid aspects of what everyone already knew was going on. The real point of the story was that it is a smokescreen for the basic strategic issues at Intel.

Stay focused, peeps!

Praise baby Jesus I hope that executives abroad go drinking and partying, they work insane hours, who is 1kca, a puritan of some sort?

More problematic, is BK accepted > $100M in TComp for leaving a company in a deep, dark structural mess that is going to require thousands of firings beyond ACT.

-osb: Thanks for pointing out that The Circuit is nothing but propaganda. You are so right. That publication is overloaded with $uckups and a$$kissers.

It's well known about Intel's drinking, partying and guys-in-action sessions. Most higher level management that go to other low cost geo sites are brought drinking, partying at nite clubs with ladies sitting by their side. Low cost geo sites IT that travel to US meetings also regularly involve drinking partying sessions in some of the staff rooms. There's videos on it. It's part of Intel culture, and don't seem to be changing anytime soon. Those who partake in such sessions commonly goes up the ranks pretty fast.
