Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

Houston building and its future

I am not at swn anymore and it’s been awhile. Is swn using both buildings / towers still especially after recent layoffs? I heard some floors were sort of shut down. Is cafeteria still in use? Gym? Is the formula still on the building and the Vplus thing still around lobby ?

I was part of layoffs in 2016, I’ve got a good job and am just curious ( I know I’ll get some , get a life comments - and that’s fair) . Just got on here with the recent layoffs , it’s unfortunate that after the massive layoffs in 2016, the company didn’t fix itself .

Even before the layoffs the entire company could've fit into one tower with room to spare. There were at least 5 floors (2 on one side and three on the other) that were closed off and not in use. Meanwhile the floors that were in use were practically empty, you could find entire cubicle sections with literally one desk being used. If they had been smart, and not had so much ego involved in their shiny new building, they would've moved everyone over to one side and rented out the other building.

And while we're on the subject of underutilizing a magnificent asset, the conference center could be a wonderful revenue center. One of the nicer facilities you'll find, with built in catering, security, parking etc. One to two large parties, fundraisers, weddings, etc. per week could easily generate a half million dollars a month. I know that's only enough to cover Bill Way's toilet paper expense, but considering the drastic measures the company is considering, it's better than nothing. But again, ego gets in the Way, and a valuable resource is squandered.

Should sell that overpriced “icon” and move into an 80’s strip center on Rayford Road...
