Thread regarding Molina Healthcare Inc. layoffs

Time is marching on....and it isn't good....

This is a repost. The original post from two months ago. Good post....as time marches on with this situation.....some posts continue to ring true. This one does, for sure. Whoever posted this was right.

Molina has lost hundreds of millions of dollars because of poor financial decisions that have cascaded into continued layoffs and rehires at drastically reduced salaries yet the core of the business model is still broken and is not being repaired in any true meaningful way.

Bad managers have and still exist within the organization which further reinforces negative perception by the rank and file that Molina Healthcare has no sense of what it means to bring in talented people or fire the bad performers. Likewise, the business continues to fail on many fronts to that end.

We are losing contracts. New Mexico and Florida losses are symptoms of the disease and expectation that more of the same will continue is apparent. Molina is a broken business and states are waking up to that and taking action.

We are a takeover target and that's just fine with the major stockholders/BOD. Our market presence is small enough to put us in prime takeover / acquisition territory. Time is not on our side as potential companies like Anthem who are actively seeking smaller organizations to gobble up at a discount are circling overhead. What they are waiting for, is just to see which contracts we get back before the end of the year.

The stock is artificially high. Don't buy the BS about stock price. EPS estimates have us at a negative 9000 for 2018. That's bad and as we lost 15% of our business going into 2019, the company's ability to recover will continue to fail as we have less revenue to work with to pay mounting debt payments.

Remember, it's not about emotion, it's about the facts. Molina Healthcare is going down. it's not a question of "if" anymore here, people.. no matter what anyone tries to spin, rely on the history of where Molina was vs where Molina is now.

@TXa0Ga4-8swl What does that mean, "Action on the side"? Are you talking about his marriage? Why would you even talk about someone's marriage? No one cares, dude. This isn't The National Inquire and if it were, still...no one cares who a Molina is getting action on the side with. Boy, you're a real class act.

The guy was getting a ton of action on the side. Meanwhile, MOH was starting to feel the pain of the political climate. The two merged and the brothers made an exit- with a ton of cash. They can play all they want now.

@conspiracytheory Well that is a nice story but very far from the actual events. But I guess this forum is for rumors and fake news so keep them coming!

@TXa0Ga4-5yfe What are the personal problems that John M has? I am not understanding that.

Basically, it was a well thought out plan by the Molina inner circle as business was getting too much to manage and John's personal problems. Dr. Molina is very smart person who planned it out very well such that they salvage some 'false' respect from their employees and come out clean. Brothers are happy now doing their little businesses (Golden Shore Clinics and Pacific6) after milking out their own millions and securing jobs for their inner circle folks like Bob, JJ, Joe etc and 'abandoning the ship'...bad karma will someday expose the truth!!

I believe that Molina, like so many other companies are always at risk for slow down due to situations both out of and under their control which results in cuts both in personnel and in spending across the board.. the thing about it all here is that people want to believe whatever they want to believe based on notions that are not based around facts.. Stay with the company or go - as an employee of any company you are always going to be expendable no matter what.. those who desire to continue to drink the Kool Aid do so at their peril and have only one bit of advice for those that feel that giving everything they have to give in exchange for a paycheck is somehow admirable in light of how easily this company would serve you notice and escort you out the door.

If you want to get anything in life, you must learn how to TAKE. Those who ASK, will never GET.

I reposted your post because it was the most relevant and intelligent post I'd seen on this Molina Layoff page. Thank you for it and for this comment. I am very curious what you think regarding those employees who remain invested in the snow job they are getting. I don't understand how anyone believes the ship will be turned around...or that turning the ship around is even the goal. I know people who literally believe this stuff. What do you think?

I sure am sorry that I was. The truth is that no one wants Molina to succeed more than I do, however some facts are just insurmountable and impossible to ignore. Paring our business down more and more along with these Zubretsky Unplugged nonsensical videos that say a lot without saying a thing is proof enough that anyone working for Molina Healthcare is being snowed by execuspeak and hidden back-office maneuvering.. JZ is an organizer - he's working to organize this business into a sweet target of takeover.. that's what he's here for and the team he has brought on board is only here to that end specifically. Molina was basically headed for failure years ago. The Molina's were too idealistic and had no head for business in the new post-Obama world - despite posturing, they lost their battle. Shareholders reign supreme - make no mistake about it. Prepare for more of the same, my friends. Ultimately, Molina Healthcare WILL only be a footnote in the history of Medicaid Managed Care.. believe it.
