Wow, reading this article about work life in Amazon warehouses eerily reminds me of our office life at the Farm.

So we get 69 minutes per day for unplanned activity time? That is what 1cci is saying, that's 1 hour and 9 minutes of unplanned activity per day, yeah right by TM would p--p a brick if we each took 69 minutes per day of unplanned activity, that would mess with our adherence. Nope I know that's not right.
I can see 20 minutes per day at the most, because we get 5 minutes before each break and lunch and 5 minutes before we log out. 69 minutes..lol. I dare anyone to try taking 69 minutes of unplanned activity for just one day and see what happens. You would be so written up...
That's really just kinda sad that TM cannot just retire. I'm not even 40 yet and this new way of operating has me struggling daily. I can't imagine what the next 20 or more years would be like if the course doesn't change.
I've seen my TM asleep with his hands on his stomach in his cubicle. 60 plus years old. He's gotta go but can't because of divorce etc
Facebook moderators break their NDAs to expose desperate working conditions:

Here’s a new sweatshop in America exposé. Our working conditions are quite similar (the office even looks exactly like ours), except instead of being forced to watch offensive content every second of our day within unobtainable metrics, we are forced to deal with the upset, angry, and stupid (yes, stupid) customers within our unobtainable metrics. This is an abusive operating model permeating Corporate America.
Tell me again that only this kind of sh-- happens in Communist China.
Why is this permitted in America?
The pressure is real! I have even seen some of our "External" friends being so rushed for time, they don't even wash their hands after number two!
Here is a documentary on the subject:

Documentaries on just how bad Amazon is to warehouse staff. Run! Run! Run! & Shame on you for approaching exhaustion!
We, the employees, can fight against this. You can file an OSHA complaint if you're being harassed about using the bathroom. You can get FMLA for certain medical conditions. The more people step up, theyll be forced to treat us like humans
SF will subsidize the cost of Depends if you ask your TM.
If a Manager asks you "what happened?" after a bathroom break, you need to speak to someone else and that Manager's continued employment needs to be examined. That is outrageous conduct.
Comments about TMs finally getting challenged with having to work.... you are clueless.
They are forcing people to work off the clock and they know it.
I tried using unplanned status and was told not to, it messed up their numbers. Had to see specialist at one point due to holding it too long. Later got kidney infection because I stopped drinking water so I wouldn’t have to go. Never had problem before metrics and not being able to go when the need arose. Ridiculous situation. I should have put it in writing as to what state to be in for bathroom break outside of scheduled break.
@TZCNxS8-2gdx the real world is having to babysit a clown like you every day. I would gladly trade the bs administrative hoops I have to jump through every day. What you don't realize is I get it from both ends, the bs I have to put up with from my SM and upper leadership and the constant daycare, child-like antics of some employees. Do us all a favor and go find your greener pastures.
Real world is TM’s getting down in the trenches. Great idea frontline TM’s doing some real work for a change maybe they can validate there paychecks with the Meterics.. What happens when a TM gotta go.
It's called work. Just do your job and welcome to the real world
TMs have been skating by for YEARS and they know it....they're finally feeling a little pinch....it's about time
@TZCNxS8-1ozl - the reality is that your TM is being held accountable for the results of the team. Doesn't make it right, but they are under a lot of pressure right now. I have been told by my TM that he was told in so many words by his Leadership that if he couldn't get the expected results, Leadership would find someone who would. Also, anyone above the CS level who pushed back on the metrics in the past was out of a job in the latest Proximity re-org. Tough time to be in claims.
My manager sits around and stares at adherence all day. He emails if you take a bathroom break too long and asks what happened. Being in adherence isn’t good enough, it needs to be as close to 100 as you can get it.
If this is true it may be time for a call to OSHA or some organization to find out your rights. A certain number of restroom minutes should be allowed without penalty.
People have been 'talked' to if they take too many bathroom breaks...female problems or diarrhea seems to get them to back off, if all else fails get a doctor's note, you doctor will laugh at the absurdity of the request but they will give you a note so you can actually pee when you need to.
I wonder how many female employees get bladder infections because they are afraid to use the bathroom when they need to?
I work in claims and don't feel like I can't use the bathroom. It's called unplanned and you get 69 min of it per day if you have to go. Lot's of sh-- wrong in claims but no one is making you squeeze your legs together until your next break or lunch.
I'd just stand up and piss on the wall. Or my boss.
