Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Have there been some lower level management lay offs this last week or so? Ones not reported in the press?

A bully at Nike takes many forms... some are classic bully behaviors, others sit up the back of the Winnebago, wearing fishing hats and then wait to passive aggressive degrade work AFTER the meeting.

Problem is, these types of bullies are slippery and survive on network and defending their existence with their team’s work.

We have too many of these across the matrix to solve the problem with letting 10 people go.! Not enough!

I have seen too many good people be pushed, forced or orged out because of these bullies and their passive aggressive ways.

There is nothing we can do as they bully in the shadows.

The Design Organization is no different that the others. Hoke is well aware of the abuse that has gone on, and who the people are (both men and women) , but done nothing to make changes unless forced to. He is very much like MP in this regard of letting things go on much too long, which has been the 4th floor strategy. In Footwear A. Cain has taken credit for other peoples work and an abuser of especially young designers for years. Many have left the company because of him. The strongest creative talent is in the Designer 2's that have a pulse on the market and know design trends. They are held back and their work diluted to not become a threat to the current design VP's trying to hold on to their power. The ultimate display of Design's VP leadership disfunction and need for massive change is the weakness on the retail wall, especially considering the resources available to do great things. Product looks basically the same with no stories or inspiring reason to purchase. Great lower level talent being lead by Design VP's that are inexperienced, un-motivating, and un-caring about the people they are responsible for. Sad to watch....

MP is working through the onslaught of reports, etc. and has a lot to do from what I understand.

As I read more and more reports...in the news and on here....all I can think about is how HR/ER were like a mob 'fixer'. Just making things go away. Protecting the 'boss' and outing anyone who didn't fall in line.

F- them.
