They announce many times represented numbers because of the Bargaining agreement, they do not have to for non represented. I heard approximately 247 in Western region was the target, add the stealth layoffs or firings of non represented and Management and it could be a whole lot higher. Once they remove the wrench turners they won't need first line management and support and that effect works it's way up. 2nd levels and Directors further consolidated under new umbrellas with bigger responsibilities and less people to carry them out.

They say due to Automation they can do this, so far what I seen with their automation is a lot like owning a 70's Era MG Midget, looked fun and cool, but was under repair more then on the road.

So your Grandma with Life alert doesn't matter, or the Emergency services that everyone depends on doesn't matter, that house fire, your emergency road side service when your broke down doesn't matter. You do know that Cell service is routed on the Copper network and thru the switch system right?

I am waiting for the fines and regulatory people to step in when all these services start to suffer, the Board and Shareholders can pay those fines I guess, it's the Shareholders, or really Executive management and Board members that own a large majority of this stock that are driving the lack of support for the backbone services the FCC requires to be maintained. Owning a RBOC is not something a Communications company really gets. There are rules in place because of the divestiture that were suppose to protect that segment of the population from exploitation and or being cast aside for greed alone. When you buy a public service entity you also take on those responsibilities, IT IS NOT JUST A BUSINESS FOR SHAREHOLDERS it's a service to the public and Nation.

I would have to agree this is much more then the reported 1000 losing their jobs. Behind the curtain there is jobs being lost everywhere across the United States, and I would imagine much more in the near future. The company will continue layoffs...until the ones that are left start to crack under the pressure to get it done. I fear someone will end up shooting the place up if this continues.... just my fear. They will drive the ones left hard to try and meet deadlines and customers expections. Hang on for the wild ride... “unifying principles” are under attack.

Level3 is a numbers game. The ones that won’t work out of the box and help other departments with customer issues, but have high numbers they are keeping. The ones of us that are focused on helping customers with issues and doing the behind the scenes switch projects don’t have the high numbers bc we are trying to correct the problems and help irate customers. It seems to be the knowledgeable ones that are getting cut. They don’t find out what people do before picking who they are laying off.. the company is losing a huge amount of expertise and keeping the lazy ones and the “not mr job” ones. I feel sorry for all the ccm’s, oe, ac’s,it,and germ techs I have always helped out. No one for them to go to now

5 fired out of 8 between two acquisition sales teams in PHX, AZ. Manager and director had paperwork ready to greet us first thing this am 5/18/18. Rumor some enterprise relationship sales reps and one manager getting the same but can’t confirm. Was told it’s a “reduction in force” (RIF) across several offices.

I know of 3 in Winter Park, FL, 1 in Denver, CO, and 1 in St. Paul, MN on my team alone. That's 5 under one manager on a team of 15 people. It's much more than the 1,000 they said it was, I guarantee that.
