Thread regarding IBM layoffs

An American Approach to Data Privacy

Today, IBM is bringing over 100 of our top leaders from across the country to meet with Members of

Congress and discuss important issues as part of our annual Washington fly-in. It’s the tenth year we’ve

held this fly-in and this year,. . .

So the flight, hotel, rental car, and per diem costs (which are all certainly more lavish than what standard employees are eligible for, I mean they're not all staying at a Hampton Inn and eating at Chili's for dinner) to have 100+ top leaders visit D.C. for the past 10 years is how much, approximately? Yet raises and promotions and cost-saving measures (RA's being the leading one. . .) are imposed on the rank-and-file at least annually now for the past 20+ years?

The above aside, do happen to agree with IBM's position: why should America have to bend to the EU's rules?

I think another IBM executive has been ordered to post something positive on this board.

If you are doing business in Europe, you should respect those laws. This is balancing data democracy.

There is at least one federal government that take privacy serious with protecting all civilians. FB, Google and others do not care at all and will use our data just for the commercial benefit.
