Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

LEVEL 3 is setting up to break up Locals Union!

I hope everyone sees what is going on. In unionized areas LEVEL 3, is setting up for when contract negotiations are up. They want people to take severance package. Hiring contracting companies for piece work. So when negotiations are ready they will let the union strike. Why? So, they can say strike if ya want our contractors will do the work not hourly but by piece work. Reduce the workforce rehire contractors and break up the local. It's setting up people, get ready because this ship is sinking.

My boss got laid off last week. We do have too many managers, but we also have too many contractors. These guys have zero experience and only do the easy work. All of the crap work gets put on us. If this company does try to blow up the union, they are in for a rude awakening. It will all fall apart. And it will be Level 3's fault.

Check out the job boards, the main contractor "Pauly," is gearing up in every area and this includes engineering, management support, quality assurance and more. Hold on to your butt, the next 3 months will be crazy and yes, tomorrow and Friday 5-23-24/ 2018 will be the big swinging of the ax in many metro areas. I think in total about 1000 employees will be gone.

To change the corporate culture the new CEO Storey will place more L3 people in positions of control. I still think were top heavy with MGT, do you?

The layoffs are company wide not just Union.

Working at CTL for a couple years its obvious how lazy and entitled the Union workers are. They will eventually be our of work and it will be their fault.

This is not just targeting the union. I don't know the numbers, but I wish I did to compare union vs management reductions. This is being felt across the entire company and has morale at an all time low. This is a very toxic time and I think the ship is sinking.

Cwa negotiates the wages and bene’s that it’s members enjoy. If you think the union doesn’t do much for anyone you are blind. There are a lot of behind the scenes fires that the stewards are constantly fighting that people aren’t aware of.

But they're laying off people who aren't in the union as well, so I doubt that's the only motivation

How many other sales engineers were laid off?
