Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Layoffs "working better than planned"

Anybody worried about the fact that HPE executives are boasting the fact that reducing headcount is working out much better than they expected?

If this becomes a go to tactic to improve business (even if I firmly believe that any gains are only temporary) we are even more screwed than we are right now.

Regarding the Cobra payments, why not sign up for obamma care instead, or is that kaput?

What do you mean if they start that up again? It has never stopped.

There is still a severance package (at least in the US)

11 Weeks @ Full Pay + 2 days pay for every year of service over 11 years + 60 day benefit equivalent pay (The 60 day "benefit equivalent" is basically what THEY chip in for benefits (medical, dental, etc) while you are an active employee. You lose all benefits on your last day, and would likely sign up for COBRA - I think that this portion of the severance package is intended to help "soften the blow" of COBRAs astronomical price tag.)

What is the current severance package if they were to start that up again?

60 days or 11weeks?

Meanwhile, the remaining people are being worked to death - some going out on medical/stress leave because it is such an unhealthy work environment.

Had a manager call me a few weeks ago and ask if I wanted to come back as they do not have enough engineers in my area. So I think they are having issues.
