Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

More layoffs at State Street?

What's the latest on layoffs? Lately I've been feeling like everything is too quiet, like calm before a major storm.

I could just be paranoid, but after all the talk about possible additional restructuring I've been in a constant anticipation mode.

Hopefully I am wrong, but if anybody knows anything, I'd be very grateful for any info.

@I voluntarily left 6 month

Hi I feel your pain I too was dumped after 25 years of faithful service. I hate to tell you the company was never going to let you get another job within the company.

They wanted you out of the company and as you see they made you quit by chaning your work schedule.

I voluntarily left 6 months ago as they changed my hours and I could not do the new hrs. HR was of NO help when I tried for 2 months to try to find a job in a different dept. Things all worked out in the end because I got a job in a different company without any of the SSC toxicity 😊

My only regret is losing my 23 yrs of accumulated benefits 😓

Sure wish they would offer another separation package. Sounds like they did in Germany from post below. I used to love my job at SSC. Now, I have to take antidepressants to keep sane. Hate what this place has become.

If they did lay off the poor performers, it would mean they have to lay off the useless 50% of the Indian staff.

The ones show do shoddy work, have no idea about procedures when it comes to a problem

Thank you for mentioning the raises and bonuses. The company and the industry as a whole did very well last year. But did that trickle down to us? Not really. Tiny raises and bonuses (if any at all) are the order of the day now, regardless of how well you perform. And if they can't bear to part with a little something after a great year, how generous do you think they'll be after a flat or down year? If the lousy compensation for front line American workers isn't a clue that we're not in plans for THE WAY AHEAD, I don't know what is. I've been here a long time, so I'm waiting and hoping for a layoff and a decent severance package, but if you're new I seriously suggest getting out now and finding something somewhere else before a wave of layoffs increases competition for whatever jobs are out there. And when you do leave, try to time it so that it makes it as difficult for your group and manager as possible - it would serve them right.

Everything about this place is TOXIC. This company is the worst of the worst. CEO Hooley and executives get big fat raises and multi-million dollar bonuses, while the rest of the workforce get no raises and no bonuses, that is just criminal. Get out of this place as soon as you can, if you are thinking of getting a job at State Street , Run the other way as fast as you can.

Crap company that can't think of any other way to survive other than to cut costs by outsourcing as much work as possible to Bangalore. Those of us dealing with India know that much of their work is barely acceptable, but I guess that's good enough for State Street. And as bad as the outsourcing is, now they have foreign workers in our Boston office and are forcing us to train them. Oh, they say that this is to free us up for more "value added" work that's coming in the near future. Yeah, right. If there's a more disrespectful and degrading way to treat the American workforce, I'm not aware of it. To hell with this place.

Last month we were told that the Next round will be poor performers. With their roles being filled by displaced staff whose roles will move offshore.

This is already happening if it hasn't already.
