So, everyone in I.T. gets promoted? Seems like they're a bit worried about the mass bail out...

Shame Aubrey didn’t understand the value of a dollar.
Killing off IT is a short term gain at the expense of long term value. IT used to be one of the most innovative software shops around. How can you expect to be competitive with your peers if you are stuck doing the same thing? I thought this company wanted to be a “leader” in the industry. Aubrey understood the value of IT.
I know a number of our IT ppl are worth their weight in gold and I hope they do what they can to keep them. Plus, with so many let go, all are doing the work of 2-3 and deserve to be rewarded. We can’t just pick up anyone to take their place without dramatically impacting our business. Having a knowledgeable IT contact about your specific process helps us more efficiently do our jobs. Just look at how bad the HelpDesk is now that they’ve outsourced it. We all roll our eyes and try to find help elsewhere before contacting them. I don’t want that to be the outcome of our other processes.
You know where we are really heavy, VP’s. #cutsomeVPs
We have some very talented IT employees. But the truth is we have too many IT employees. With improved automation and much needed outsourcing of certain groups we can afford to lose a lot. We also need to allow some of our younger leaders to take the rains more and clear out some of the dead wood at the top. Look to our peer companies for guidance and an average employee count.
Yes, lots of people use a computer and IT is important. Thing is for every IT slapjack that gets his feeling hurt and quits, there are about 10,000 more to take his place. You aren’t special.
I can promise you, IT is one of the most important departments in this company. I don't work in IT, but IT has the ability to completely cripple entire departments if systems go down. I don't know if you're aware, but most people who work at this company use a "computer". It's like a phone, but it has more wires, it's bigger, and can have any number of "monitors" plugged in to it. If these "computers" no longer work, or software systems fail, the company is dead in the tracks.
I promise you, nobody cares about the people leaving IT. #heavy
