Age Discrimination

Intel is being investigated for age discrimination. Can't imagine Nike's numbers look much different. Possibly worse.

Yes it continues. If you have been at the same level for years and then you decide to apply for other positions at a higher level good luck. Many tactics used in hopes you will become frustrated and leave.

It’s a shame because very good people are giving up and leaving or just going through the motions.

I'm a very youthful, forward-thinking 47 and left Nike a couple years ago because I started to see the writing on the wall with regard to ageism. It's not something easily proven but you begin to see how the younger employees coming in are given more opportunity that their older counterparts. There is definitely the sense that older employees aren't as respected as those who are younger. It's sad.

I did the math last summer (for Innovation), and the average age of those cut was in the 43 range. At least for that team, hard to prove ageism.
