Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Down the drain but look at the pretty decor

Every day I feel our leadership tries to distract us to the fact that the company is going down the drain. It's like business as usual except their is not much businesses as far as selling policies going on. I know people can't run around screaming with their hair on fire. But instead of lengthy speeches and misinformation why can't our senior leadership team execute their plan without ripping apart this company from the inside out. Just sad. Sorry totally a rant but after over two decades of working and living in Bloomington I just hate to see this. Like many I counted myself lucky to live here and lucky to make a wage that gave my family an solidly middle class life. Just sad.

-bjb From a former Farmer you guys royally s---. Get out. Your leadership isn’t smart enough to take you to the next level. Hell they aren’t even smart enough to turn the car around. SF was and remains Lost with no roadmap and is in bad need of a course correction.

How can we be the BEST in the industry and getting stronger when we haven't made a profit in 3 years and 908,000 (net) customers left us just last year?

It's almost like State Farm systems was like "how do we modernize our technology"?

Should we offer a competive wage and hire talented programmers?... No, that's too expensive. H1B visa time!

Should we hire people with computer science degrees to do systems work? Nope let's put our overpaid people though a three month programming class. That's probably the same as a 4 year programming degree, right?

I know! Let's decorate the inside of Corporate South like what we imagine Google looks like! Look, silly looking chairs!!! Am I "agile" yet?

The best as BS, political correctness, wasting time with team morale building things which are a waste: like - pizza day, football jersey day, food days to help everyone get even fatter when stress itself and terrible work hours are already contributing enough, remember Halloween with all the time and resources wasted, not to mention the BIG JOKE FOUNDERS DAY - ha, ha..... Bad neighbor! Oh and classes with a little quiz which had the same questions or similar to those to id ADHD. Or having a class on s-xual harassment, when apparently upper level management was already well experienced enough at it. How about "About your business"? - should have just used your company $$$'s for toilet paper as that is how effective it was. Wasted time, money, effort, all so the people att the top can stuff their wallets!
