Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Qualcomm has become the late Rome!

Infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?

Q was never had been Rome; you guys are too nice. However like what happened then, the dark period just starts now. It starts with the plaque started the rats in BOD and execs with their final act of treachery of enacting a severance plan for being the "dumbest" ever in the tech world. The dark era will continue for another 10 centuries until the renaissance from another great Lorenzo de' Medici from Florence will come save the Q world. Until then the rapid spiral down starts now. Wow., it stinks.

comparisons to Rome are far too nice. At its peak, Q was more like the 1991 Buffalo Bills

In Rome, the promotion of incompetent relatives to important positions made it impossible to govern such a large and complex empire, so the empire gradually became more corrupt until it failed completely.

Qualcomm's downfall started with the brazen nepotism in 2005. A tragic misstep by Irwin!

Rome tanked in the late third century, they did manage to linger through the mid fifth century...

Based on this, bonuses will continue to flow for a century or two... RSUs - pretty much the same... And all the freebies....

QC looks to me more like Masada, Herodian palace-fortress than Rome. It's 73 CE and the palace is under the siege by the Romans... Would you like to guess how things ended up?

Did Rome borrow money to buyback it’s own debased silver coins?
