Thread regarding Sears layoffs

"A small group of stores was pulled from the list to be evaluated further"

Which stores are those (if anyone knows)?

There's a reason why they're on the fence in closing those and if they don't do it now, they'll do it later.

Never heard of issuing a stay of execution when it comes to closing stores.

I'd take the retraction as warning shot and get out while you can or atleast prepare yourself for end of your location

Agree with the previous poster 2 back. Between TRU and Bon Ton, the liquidators have their hands full.

Liquidators can't keep up. The rest and more will be in the next round of closings, around August announcement.

Maybe the buyer wanted to renegotiate after the press release, or the SHC called the malls bluff and now are more willing to re-evaluate the lease costs

They probably didn't have enough liquidators. They will be on the next set of closings.

Somebody knows... apparently the employees in at least some of those 9 stores were initially told they'd be closing, this morning, and then told 'oh never mind'. https://www.thelayoff.com/t/TrIn651
