A competitor (endurance, an Allstate company) was receiving detailed customer and policy information about 21st century(owned by statefarm) customers for encouraging them to switch to esurance and it seemed liked it was being done illegally. This happened at least for 6 months between end of 2016 and mid 2017. I don't if it continues after that.

Whoa, this whole thread is garbage (like many others here).
Farmers owns 21st Century. SF has never grown by acquiring smaller insurance companies in the way Allstate (for example acquiring E-Surance) or Farmers (acquiring 21st Century) has. SF has not done this (but who knows, they’re trying to be like all others, so they might someday).
OP is thinking of 21st Century A--hole, a State Farm Company.
21st Century is owned by Farmers not State Farm.
