Google evaluating Qualcomm acquisition

This is in evaluation. Details could change or may not happen. Details i have so far:

1) Google wants to take a stab at Apples margins and wants tighter control over system.

2) They are not happy with hal/driver behavior and also proprietary moduled. Buying would give them control.

3) Chips could be used for Waymo car to car communication, apart from Pixel.

4) Pixel will release with newest h/w. Reference system including s/w will be given to others later.

5) QC might be maintained as a private subsidiary like Youtube. QC owners will be happy with this arrangement.

6) Details on licensing or NXP not available yet. Will post once available.

Again, this could be a rumor, may not happen, dont get hopes too high.

OP wants the free food of Google and brags about working for Google so badly.

rumor rumor. Q is clearly a big red target for takeover. Hence the execs get their $$$ even if fired.

Defence : cut costs, sell divisions and make it a bitter pill and costly exercise, off load talent to other divisions ready to separate.

Google ??? wtf is wrong with you people. If they bought QC it would be for various IP. But they don't need any of the people, and likely have enough smart people to destroy QC at anything they want.

Outside pretty much everyone knows qc is a joke by now. No one will buy it except some chinese phone makers maybe.

They would only want QCT.

I doubt management would only sell that piece alone.

Pretty sure if you want key groups/people at QCOM...just offer them a job. Pretty sure the entire modem team would go. Why bother with the rest.

Think about Motorola.. Even this may happen, but they won't pay the same as Google. Also, I don't think Google is willing to pay over 130 Billion to buy Qualcomm
